Dinner Fellowship with Asia-Pacific senior friend and students and staff members of KSCF was held on August 13, 2007 in Seoul Korea. The dinner fellowship was hosted by KSCF senior friend, Dr. Kang Moon Kyu, who was also a former WSCF Regional Secretary in the 70’s. Attending the event were Dr. Soritua Nababan, senior friend of GMKI and current president of the World Council of Churches (WCC); Dr. Marshal Fernando, senior friend of SCM
Sri Lanka, Director of Ecumenical Institute for Spirituality and Development (EISD) in Sri Lanka; Tony Waworuntu, senior friend of GMKI and current Executive Secretary of CCA; Mamen Varkey, senior friend of SCM India, current editor of People’s Reporter in India; Dr. Ahn Jae Wong, former WSCF AP Regional Secretary and former CCA General Secretary, and Necta Montes Rocas, current Regional Secretary of WSCF AP. Also present were students, former and present staff and officer of KSCF.

Senior friends shared their experiences and reflections of their time in the SCM with the students. In his sharing, Tony Waworuntu enumerated three important things he learned from SCM: learning theology as a layperson, involvement in justice and peace work and life-long involvement in the ecumenical movement. Marshal Fernando highlighted the important role of SCM Sri Lanka in reducing tension and peace-building in conflict ridden Sri Lanka. He pointed out that SCM was an inclusive community where young students from Tamil and Sinhalese population gather together harmoniously. Dr. Nababan shared that his involvement with SCM has significantly changed his life, he further added that “once you become an ecumenical person, you will never be the same again”.
