Women Leadership Training in Myanmar

The Women Leadership Training was held on Contemporary Issues October 6-9, 2008 in Yangon. Thirty women were selected to participate in the training with eight SCM staff and facilitators.

The program was aimed to promote women leadership in local units, to study and reflect Bible and do theology from feminist perspectives, to undersand the role of women in the history of ecumenical movement, and to promote women leadership in the student movement and society.

The training had Capacity Building for Women Leadership, Gender, Legal Rights, Women’s Sexuality and Contemporary Issues of young women. The programme helped the participants in knowing more about the said topics. It also helped them to take leadership roles in ecumenical movements, local SCM and Churches.
