First issue – Women and Identity: Going Beyond Gender and Religion
PRAXIS Issue No. 1 January-April 2010 is on the theme, “Women and Identity: Going Beyond Gender and Religion.” This issue of Praxis explores the theme of women’s identity or identities, featuring a Biblico-Theological Reflection by Yong Ting Jin on Luke 10: 38-42 on the story of Martha and Mary and the stories of SCM women participants who attended the Women Doing Theology Workshop (WDT). It also featured an article written by Anna Marsiana from Indonesia highlighting Indonesian government’s intervention to control women’s body, sexuality and mobility by imposing laws and policies against women in Indonesia. The Solidarity space brought to the international attention the illegal arrest of the 43 health workers in the Philippines.
Second issue – Sowing the Seeds of Ecological Justice
PRAXIS Issue No. 2 May-August 2010 in on the theme, “Sowing the Seeds of Ecological Justice,” reflecting the global theme of the Federation on Climate Justice. This issue featured an article from Theresa Conception giving a succinct description of the ecological crisis not only limited to climate change but all of the different eco-systems of the planet. The Biblico-theological Reflection is from Hope Antone focusing on Genesis 1, the Creation Story, using the eco-feminist lens in interpreting the text. This issue also featured the Anti-POSCO Campaign in Orissa, India, giving voices to the farmers and indigenous people from the villages who are struggling against development aggression and their rights to the land.
