October 6-9, 2008
The Women Leadership Training was held from October 6 to 9, 2008 in Yangon, 30 young women were selected to participate in the training with 4 SCM staff, 4 facilitators.
This program was aim to promote women leadership in local units The specific objectives were—to study and reflect Bible and do theology from feminist perspectives—to understand the role of women in the history of ecumenical movement -to promote women leadership in student movement and society.
The contents of the training were Capacity Building for Women Leadership, Gender, Legal Rights, Women’s Sexuality and Contemporary issues of young women.
The programme was effective in order to acquire knowledge on the said topics and creative activities. This would also help the young women to take leadership roles in ecumenical movements, local SCM and Churches.
